Well it appears that I have not been as active updating this blog as I thought I would be. Seems that something called life got in the way, and maybe a little bit of laziness too. So I am going to give everyone a condensed version.
2010 - Summer - not much happened. Watched the Cubs slowly descend into the depths medicarity and contemplated the demise of not renewing my season tickets next year.
2010 - Fall - went on vacation as we normally do and spent Thanksgiving with the Fabbri's in Jackson, MS. Was great to see everyone and had fun. Also started a new hobby, took up the guitar. Always wanted to but for some unknown reason I never moved on it. Well I finally did and am having a blast with it!
2010-11 Winter - Went to Des Moines for Christmas and had a blast with the kids. Towards the end of January got hit with the 3rd worst blizzard on record. Tell me how do you like my new snowblower?
Well for Marisa's birthday we went to New York for the weekend. Had a blast. Saw two broadway shows "The Addams Family" and "La Cage Aux Falls". Both excellent shows I would highly recommend them.
2011 - Spring - Well not much happening at this point. Cubs started the season and spent the weekend at the park. They are a sub .500 team at best. Attendance is down and prices are up.
$7 for a beer! Good thing I don't drink at the games, but it is so bad anymore that I am not even buying a scorecard, designed my own system and am using it. It is going to be another long summer.
Finally, we are finally installing air conditioning on the first floor and the basement, new doors, new countertop and new microwave. After last summer I refused to suffer again in the heat. Construction is underway and I will post some more as the progress goes on. It seems like we are always undergoing some construction around here. Will it ever end? Last year it was the plumbing and the last of the landscaping, this year it is the kitchen. And it goes on and on.....

My First Post!
Well, I have finally done it. Decided to start an online journal. Why did I wait so long? Who knows? Who cares? Why does it matter. No one will probably ever read this so, what do I care.
With that said what wondrous thoughts are roaming through my head today?? Not much really, which isn't unusual. Our basement is coming together nicely. Expect to have the finishing touches on it by next weekend. This will make both Marisa and I very happy as we have missed the tv room more then we ever thought we would.
I'll have to take some pictures and post, but for those not in the know, the last year has been a disaster here with plumbing. On 3 separate occasions we had to have the plumber out to clear out the lines. Finally the plumber determined that we had a root problem where the main sewer and the house intersect and the only way to correct the issue was to cut up the cement and repair the joints. Of course this meant we had to have the bar (granite counter tops) removed. To make a long story short our contractor was able to dismantle the bar, save the counter and re-install everything (Thanks Ira!). So now it is just 3 little things left to do.
1. Install carpeting. Yeah, what are we thinking putting carpet in the basement? A basement that has had water problems no less! I don't know. We'll see what happens. We did install Dricore subflooring systems so we should be ok, baring anymore plumbing problems. Carpet installation happens on May 19th.
2. Delivery of new furniture, this happens May 21st. Getting that recliner, hehehe....
3. Delivery of new 63" tv. Not sure on this one, have to buy it first. Just not sure which one I want yet. So this one is still up in the air. Looking at the Samsung PN63C7000 and/or the PN63C8000 just not sure if the 8000 is worth the extra $400. We'll see.
